Our Lionesses will take to court once again in Lithuania later this month, as they travel to Lithuania for the Main Round Qualifiers of the UEFA Women’s Futsal Euro 2027, all played at the Birštonas Sports Center, just south of Kaunas. Our opponents in Group B are Bosnia & Herzegovina, Serbia and the hosts, Lithuania.
Lionesses Head Coach, Sion Kitson, is excited to lead the Lionesses into international action once again, following their historic 2024 debut in Moldova:
“I am incredibly proud to announce the Lionesses squad that will take to the court in two weeks’ time, going toe to toe with Lithuania, Bosnia and Herzegovina and Serbia in the UEFA Women’s Futsal EURO 2027 Main Round Qualifiers.
Since the World Cup qualifiers in 2024, this group of players within the performance programme has made significant progress — not only in performance levels, but in belief, resilience and togetherness. Above all, we will be mentally prepared to give everything in pursuit of qualification for the next stage of the competition.
We know three tough challenges lie ahead, but as a group we trust in our individual strengths and our collective game plan, informed by our emerging Pride DNA, to make a genuine impact against high-level opposition.
This qualification campaign is about meeting the high standards we have set for ourselves by executing performance excellence on and off the court, representing English futsal with pride, and creating history for the women’s game.”
The fixtures come just a matter of weeks before the Lionesses then return home to make history once again, as we host Slovakia twice at Loughborough University’s Sir David Wallace Sports Hall, 9th and 10th April, in what are the first-ever Lionesses fixtures on English soil.
Tickets for this historic pair of games, part of our action-packed International Futsal Week, are available to purchase right now.

There are three stages in qualifying for the first edition since the switch from a biennial four-team final tournament to an eight-nation event held every four years: main round, elite round and play-off. While hosts Croatia qualify automatically for the finals, the remaining 23 entrants take part in qualifying.
The top 11 entrants in the UEFA Women's National Futsal Team Coefficient Rankings start qualifying in October's elite round while the remaining 12 sides are involved in the main round, including EURO debutants France and Norway. The winners of each single-venue mini-tournament and the two best runners-up qualify for the elite round.
