WHY?

The 4 Futsal Commissions form part of our governance structure which will support our Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) commitments.

They support the greater connection and communication between the EF board and our futsal community.

Each commission is supported by a number of volunteers who will work together over a 2 year term to support our ambitions against each project.

England Futsal is extremely grateful to the commission members, who are all a part of the futsal community and investing their time to represent the views of the wider game.

Equity, Equality, Diversity & Inclusion

Developing and leading an approach towards an ambition for the game which is inclusive, welcoming and accessible.

Other Commission Members - Jordan Robinson.

  • Chris currently plays for Hartpury Futsal Club as well as coaching within the UK all Type 1 Diabetes Futsal squad.

A former Wales Futsal international, he now works in the third sector on community engagement for the largest Type 1 Diabetes charity in the UK.

Chris has helped us to harness an inclusive culture across futsal through our behaviours, words and actions - supported by insight from the community.

  • Since first becoming involved with futsal through the St Mary’s University Women’s team, Lauren has quickly developed an interest and passion for the game.

She aims to build more than just a sport - creating a community where everyone can bond over their love for futsal, while providing opportunities to those both new and experienced in the game.

  • As co-founder and secretary of Birmingham WLV Futsal Club, Masood is a pioneer in his city and the country, supporting many other clubs to develop and grow.

He now continues to push the development of futsal in England and leave no one behind by creating a place for all to engage in the sport.

  • Currently playing for Maidenhead Futsal Club in NFS Tier 1, Seth has played senior futsal in England since 2010 whilst being a youth coach with various clubs.

He has joined the commission to help remove barriers and help as many people as possible take part in our sport.

  • A member of our Lionesses and a player and youth coach for Bloomsbury Futsal Club, Rosanna initially played Futsal at a very young age and then picked it up again at Loughborough University (2016-2020).

Having seen futsal and specifically the women’s game lack the attention it deserves in the UK, Rosanna aims to help the sport realise its potential.

Implementing tools and skills gained from working with inclusive grassroots clubs, she wants to help make Futsal a more open and inclusive sport for both women and non-binary individuals.

People Development

Ensuring we develop a progressive approach to recruitment, learning, professional development and transition of coaches, referees, administrators and boards (both paid and voluntary).

Other Commission Members - David Dixon, Mark Dick.

  • Dean is a qualified futsal coach who enjoys helping with training and especially match days at Sala Futsal Club in Manchester, but his main role is as a parent of two highly enthusiastic young futsal players.

During his term, he hopes to have a tangible, positive impact on the quality and quantity of well-supported futsal volunteers.

  • Dan has played for, coached and previously run a grassroots futsal club and is now a full-time sports development practicioner that believes in the potential of futsal and wants to progress the sport through community development.

  • Jamie is Men’s Head Coach at Leicester Athletic Futsal Club and De Montfort University Futsal Club.

He’s been involved in futsal for over fifteen years as a player, coach and supporter!

He joined the commission with the aim of creating a set of “blueprints” for how clubs and communities can develop players, coaches, officials and volunteers, depending on the set up and circumstances of the club/region.

  • Greenwich Futsal Club, Celtics Futsal Club

Ezekiel has been obsessed with Futsal for 2 years, primarily coaching over that time.

  • Dan’s son plays for Bloomsbury – Tier 2 and U16 and has been playing futsal for a number of years. He was also on the U16 TFC Allstar that played in the January 2025 Squad tournament in Belgium.

He hopes to help define pathways for more girls and boys to play futsal – either as an alternative to football or as a way to enhance their grassroots or academy football – which would also serve to widen the talent pool for future England futsal teams. Working with the key stakeholders will be important to see this through.

  • Head Coach at Derby Futsal Club/University of Derby

Matt’s been involved in futsal for 15 years, coaching, developing Derby Futsal Club and building partnerships and relationships to help futsal to thrive within our local community.

He’s passionate about the development of futsal players, coaches and people across all areas of the game and sees this commission as playing a crucial role in supporting England Futsal’s plans to ensure a better future for the game.

Duty to Care

Placing the welfare and wellbeing of players, coaches, referees and administrators at the core of our work.

Other Commission Members - Emma Tune (Women’s National Team Captain), Stuart Cook (Men’s National Team Captain).

  • Project Futsal, University of Liverpool & England Futsal Coach Developer

Joe has worked in futsal, football and sport for over 15 years in various coaching and development roles.

He hopes to support England Futsal and the commission to support the development of the game and ensure players retain a life long love of the game.

  • Marc is an Athlete Support Officer at Swansea University and has been involved in futsal since 2017, firstly through the EFL Trust leagues and then at university level.

He has extensive experience in supporting the welfare of world class athletes in a range of sports across the U.K.

He will continue to support the development of futsal in England through the Duty of Care commission over the next 2 years ensuring welfare of athletes is placed front and centre.

Facilities

Ensuring we have a connected network of high quality, accessible, digitally enabled, inclusive and safe places to play.

Other Commission Members - Andy Kidd, Chris Hawkins.

  • Derbyshire FA

Hannah is a self-proclaimed futsal busy body – she’s been a player, coach and committee member (sometimes all at once!) for the last eight years.

Now she wants to proactively support facilities to get futsal ready.

  • Futsoul 360 Bristol

Jono runs weekly leagues across Bristol, coaches the University sides and has his senior side compete in the National Futsal League. Futsoul 360 is a charity delivering futsal-based sports intervention in schools.

Jono has 10+ years futsal experience in the UK playing in the national league for Sheffield, West London, Bath, Bristol City and Futsal 360, as well the UK diabetes team in the Dia Euros. He has also coached the University of Bristol since 2021.

Jono’s vision is to see increased innovation in futsal venues in the UK, re-imagining what futsal spaces could look like in terms of their location and appearance so that more people are exposed to the game – particularly in central urban areas. This could involve renovating existing multi-use games areas to be fit for use all year round or finding disused spaces such as shopping centres, for temporary futsal courts.
