LIONESSES

THE STORY

In October 2024, the Lionesses made their international futsal debut - travelling to Moldova for the European qualifiers of the inaugural FIFA Futsal Women’s World Cup 2025 - playing Slovenia, Moldova and Finland in Group 4.

History was made when Helena Scotland became the Lionesses’ first ever goalscorer against Finland.

They then secured a first ever win at international level, an 8-0 victory against Moldova, whilst giving a strong Slovenia side a competitive game to finish 3rd.

Their next competition will be in 2026, beginning qualification for the UEFA Futsal Women’s EURO 2027, which is being expanded to an eight-team final tournament.

RESULTS

16/10/24 - Finland 5 - 2 England

17/10/24 - Moldova 0 - 8 England

19/10/24 - England 2 - 4 Slovenia
