THE STORY
After almost five years away from the court, the Three Lions returned to the international futsal court in December 2024 for the UEFA Futsal Euro 2026 Main Round qualifiers, being drawn in Group 8 against Spain, Bosnia & Herzegovina and Switzerland.
DEC 24 - APR 25
A Liam Palfreeman hat-trick secured a first ever main round win, 5-1 against Switzerland at Loughborough University’s Sir David Wallace Sports Hall in front of 750 spectators, as the new-era Lions fought valiantly home and away against both Spain & Bosnia, before drawing 4 - 4 away to Switzerland to finish 3rd in Group 8 thanks to a Harry Tozer hat-trick.

THE STORY
In December 2025, we announced the news that England would be hosting the Men’s 2028 FIFA Futsal World Cup preliminary round qualifiers, back at Loughborough University once again.
The first competitive mini-tournament ever hosted on English soil.
Our guests? Sweden, Switzerland & Northern Ireland.
APR 2026
With a week long festival of international futsal turning the Sir David Wallace into the Lions Den, we opened with a 9-0 victory against Switzerland and an Amorim hat-trick, before losing a thriller 7-5 to Northern Ireland and 2-1 to Sweden to miss out on Main Round qualification.
Jack Tysom made his debut, assisting against Switzerland and scoring against Northern Ireland.
FEB 2026
In preparation for the qualifiers, the Lions were invited to Stuttgart by Germany, for a special 10 year anniversary game at Stuttgart’s incredible Porsche Arena.
In front of 5,800 fans, Jeff Adubofour got us off to the perfect start with a stunner, but we would ultimately lose 3-1 while Tyler Cook, Eduardo Amorim, Jed Devine and Charlie Kuehn all made senior debuts on a special night.
