England Futsal announces expanded network of Youth Development Partners for second year of programme

Following a successful first year of the Youth Development Partners programme, the network has expanded from 24 to 42 youth futsal organisations driving the game forwards together nationwide.

England Futsal is proud to introduce its second cohort of Youth Development Partners for the 2026-27 season.

Following an open recruitment process held throughout early summer, which saw a mix of 49 clubs, private providers and education establishments express initial interest, 24 organisations have continued that process and signed up as Youth Development Partners for the second season of the programme.

This builds on the work done in 2025-26 which saw 24 partners join as inaugural members of the network, 18 of whom return for a second season.

The network now stands at 42 youth futsal organisations nationwide, all making a collaborative commitment to drive the game forwards.

The full list of partners is available below, and on the Youth Development section of our website.

This marks important progress in our five year youth development vision, with the goal for year two being to ‘expand the network and introduce basic structure to youth competitions and events’.

As outlined in last year’s announcement, this is not a short-term project.

England Futsal anticipates that it will take three to five years to establish a robust, nationwide framework that provides relevant and rewarding opportunities for all young players who wish to engage in futsal.

The expansion of our network continues this work, and we would like to thank each and every partner who has either joined or stayed part of the network for their continued dedication to progressing youth futsal.

About the Youth Development Partner Programme

Throughout this second season, members of the Youth Development Partners will deliver a range of local and regional events, designed to increase access and participation for young players.

Each event will fall under one of three key categories:

  • Activate Series - Local, entry-level events designed to introduce young players and teams to futsal in a fun, inclusive, festival-style environment.

    Emphasis on players aged 8-14.

  • Challenger Series - Regional opportunities for mature futsal clubs seeking more competitive experiences for their players.

    Emphasis on players aged 11-16.

  • National Youth Cup - England Futsal’s national pathway competition, with Youth Development Partners hosting regional qualifying tournaments leading up to the National Youth Cup Finals in May 2027.

    Focus on players aged 13-16.

More information about the 2026-27 National Youth Cup will be shared in due course.

This follows the work done by our founding partners last season which included nine of our partners hosting regional qualifying events for the National Youth Cup.

A wide range of partners also piloted Activate series events across the network.

For the 2026-27 season, England Futsal aim to work with a select number of partners to pilot regional Challenger series events, with work already being done to bring these to life.

It is our pleasure to introduce our full cohort of Youth Development Partners below:

Why did England Futsal start the Youth Development Partners Network?

England Futsal believes the most effective way to develop youth competition is through collaboration with those delivering the game on the ground.

By establishing an open network that will listen, learn and unite the voices of our partners, we can shape a youth futsal landscape that truly reflects what young people want and need.

Working together enables us to centralise data and insight from across the youth futsal space, helping to build sustainability and generate income through England Futsal Community C.I.C. - which can be reinvested directly into developing youth opportunities nationwide.
