England Futsal is delighted to be opening recruitment for two Performance Pathway Goalkeeper Support Coaches, further contributing to the growth and development of the next generation of England Futsal goalkeepers while working with some of the best coaches in the futsal space.

The two new roles further strengthen our commitment to, and recognition of, the goalkeeper, as a unique and specialist role within futsal that grows in its importance every season.

Goalkeepers are an increasingly specialised and crucial position in modern futsal, both in and out of possession. Continuing to improve the provision and support for our goalkeepers within the Performance Pathway is a key part of ensuring that we evolve with the game and give our national teams the best possible chance in competition. The likes of Andy (Reading) and Dylan (Malpas) are real experts and assets to the programme and we are lucky to be working with them. We are certainly going to be running more bespoke goalkeeper camps in the future, as the player feedback we had from May has been excellent
— Sion Kitson, England Futsal Head of Development & Technical Lead

The end of May saw the first-ever bespoke goalkeeper performance camp, with more than 40 male and female athletes, from inside and outside of the pathway, gathering at the University of Bedford for a day of specialist, player-focused development.

Dylan Malpas (former England Futsal GK and FA Coach Developer), Andy Reading (England Futsal Goalkeeper Coach) & Dimitri De Pol (Goalkeeper Coach at Venezia Women & D5 Tirogiro Goalkeeper Camp) joined our current Men and Women’s Head Coaches, John Tapia-Owens and Sion Kitson, to form a stellar coaching group for those in attendance to learn from and share ideas with.

The successful applicants for the Goalkeeper Support Coach roles will join the England Futsal Performance Pathway Coaching Team for the 2026/27 season, supporting the lead coaches in each of our North and South hubs and working with a highly talented group of male and female goalkeepers across the U17 and U19 age groups.

If this role interests you, please carefully read the Job Description & Person Specification below, as well as the Application Pack, containing instructions for how to submit your application.

This is an excellent opportunity for goalkeeper coaches who have experience coaching 15-19 year olds and have previous involvement in coaching youth futsal or football teams in competitive environments.

If you are keen to develop your knowledge and expertise in a high performance environment, we would encourage you to make an application.

The application window will remain open for two weeks, closing at midnight on Thursday 25th June, with interviews taking place on the Monday 6th, Tuesday 7th & Wednesday 8th of July.

The successful applicants will be appointed on Friday 10th July.
