Lionesses fix Kate McGreavy travelled to Argentina’s capital city, Buenos Aires, on Friday to begin two exciting weeks of training with Club Atlético Boca Juniors women’s futsal team as they enter the key stages of the 2026 Primera A de Futsal Femenino season.
The opportunity represents the beginning of a new partnership between England Futsal and the iconic Argentinian club, which operates a highly successful men’s and women’s futsal programme.
The partnership will see both parties collaborate across three key areas:
Player development opportunities - including player exchange opportunities to support individual development.
Knowledge transfer, coach learning and education - sharing coaching knowledge, methodologies, best practice and technical expertise.
Performance analysis support - Working together to strengthen performance analysis processes, including the collection of data, video analysis, opposition analysis and individual player reviews. The aim being to provide coaches and players with meaningful insights that can inform training, match preparation and ongoing development.
Speaking ahead of the trip to Buenos Aires, Kate said:
“I’m really excited for the opportunity to train with such a huge and historic club like Boca Juniors.
It’ll be a new challenge - daily training, a different language and a strong team - but I’m looking forward to learning from both the players and coaching staff to continue my development.
I’m also relishing the chance to share my knowledge on and off the court.
This is a truly valuable experience, and one that I hope can pave the way for others in future.”
She joins up with the Xeneize from August 15th-31st, staying as the club’s guest in La Boca region of Buenos Aires, and has already attended Sunday evening’s 3-2 home victory over Camioneros.
Starting with her first training session today, Kate will be working closely with Boca Women’s Futsal Head Coach, Nicolás Fabro, Head of Strength & Conditioning, Pablo Fleitas, and the rest of the Boca staff and squad.
England Futsal wishes Kate the best of luck during this adventure while extending a warm thank you, to everyone at Club Atlético Boca Juniors who have facilitated this opportunity, and great excitement with regard to the new partnership and what it will bring for the future.
