Lionesses 2026/27 UEFA European Women’s Futsal Championship - Main Round Opponents Revealed.
A trip to Lithuania in March awaits…
The Lionesses will travel to Lithuania to face the hosts, Bosnia and Serbia in Group B in March.
Following today’s draw in Nyon, Switzerland, we can confirm that the Lionesses will travel to Lithuania in March to face Bosnia-Herzegovina, Serbia & Lithuania in Group B of the 2026/27 UEFA European Women’s Futsal Championship Main Round.
After 2024 saw the Lionesses travel to Moldova for their first ever international futsal fixtures, earning their first three points in an 8-0 victory against Moldova, this is a hugely exciting moment for the women’s game and English futsal, as we consolidate our presence on the international stage of the rapidly expanding women’s game.
Bosnia-Herzegovina are 43rd in the most recent Women’s FIFA Futsal World Rankings, while Serbia and Lithuania sit 53rd and 71st respectively. Currently ranked 80th in the world after their international debut last year, the Lionesses will be excited to stamp a mark on Group B.
The winner of each group, and the two best runners-up, will qualify for the Elite Round - which is to be played in October 2026.
The mini-tournament format, in which each side faces each other once, will be played between March 17 - 22, 2026. To read more about the format and schedules leading up to the UEFA Womens’ Futsal Euro 2027 in Croatia, click here.
Our expanded Performance Programme group will now continue preparations for these fixtures, as we aim to make further history for English futsal and the women’s game.
Head of Development & Technical Lead, Sion Kitson, spoke to us following the draw:
“It’s a massively proud moment for the Lionesses, as we build on the momentum of 2024’s debut international appearances and look to grow our presence in the women’s game.
The trip to Moldova was really special for everyone involved and we’re absolutely dedicated to ensuring March’s trip to Lithuania is even better for our women, both on and off the court.
Bosnia, Serbia and Lithuania is an exciting and challenging draw, but we feel confident in our abilities and the preparations we’ve made over the last few months within the Performance Programme. We’ll keep working hard from now until March and when the time comes, let’s see if we can make that Elite Round!”
If you’d like to be part of supporting the Lionesses’ journey to Lithuania in 2026, stay across our social media and website for more information coming soon about commercial partnerships and other opportunities to join the journey.
We’ll see you in March.
