England Futsal to host Men’s 2028 FIFA Futsal World Cup European Qualifiers at Loughborough in April.

It’s happening again.

England vs Spain, February 2025, Sir David Wallace Sports Hall, Loughborough.

The road to the 2028 FIFA Futsal World Cup begins today in Nyon, Switzerland, with the preliminary round draw for the UEFA qualifiers commencing at 10:30 GMT (11:30 CET).

England Futsal is delighted to announce that we have been confirmed by UEFA as one of the six nations that will host a group, and therefore SIX international fixtures, between the 6th - 10th April 2026.

This will include three showpiece Lions games in front of a home crowd once again, and another special opportunity to bring our English futsal community together in celebration.

After the 2024/25 season saw history made, as the first three England Futsal fixtures on home soil were played against Switzerland, Spain and Bosnia, in front of more than 2000 supporters, for the 2026 UEFA Futsal Euro Main Round qualifiers, we are delighted to confirm that the Pride will once more be taking to court at Loughborough University’s Sir David Wallace Sports Hall.

Another historic week awaits for English futsal as we host our first ever four-team preliminary tournament.

England Futsal Group Chair, Stephen Mitchell, is delighted with today’s news:

“It’s another proud moment for England Futsal and the futsal community in this country, as we continue to build on the success of last season’s qualification campaign by bringing more top level international futsal onto home soil.

We are delighted to be working with Loughborough University again, who were such fantastic hosts on three occasions for us between December 2024 and March 2025. The Sir David Wallace provides the perfect venue for our community to gather, and the atmosphere generated by the crowd was unforgettable.

With three England games in the space of four days this time around, we want this week to be a real festival of international futsal that creates lots of memories and allows our next generation to dream of playing futsal for their country.”

To make this Festival of Futsal as special as possible, England Futsal will be activating all sections of our community throughout the week - with opporunities to get involved far beyond simply watching the games…

We’ll have events for our coaching and refereeing communities, exciting youth futsal provision and also a showcase of our newly-expanded Talent Development Pathways.

If you’d like to be part of supporting our programme, England Futsal are looking for commercial partners to make their mark on the week and have their brand amplified on the international stage - further information on partnership opportunities will follow in due course but if you or your business are interested, please contact us at info@englandfutsal.com.

More information regarding both the Lions and Lionesses’ international draws will follow throughout the day from Nyon, as we await the confirmation of our opponents.
